I haven’t been posting like I thought I would. I haven’t been doing nearly enough photography. I think it’s because of school. Trying to go to school full time and work full time has been very hard. It was easier when I was taking the pre-reqs…but when you get into honest-to-god software engineering it becomes much. Anyway, I think that’s pretty much done.
I’ve entered into a pretty interesting time period now with some dramatic changes afoot. I can’t really publicly talk about them yet, so I’m going to blog about them privately. Once things get out in the open, I’ll make those posts public. But I think, for myself, this should be a good time to start recording what goes on.
We did go and attend a wedding in Philly for some friends and I was able to get some really good pictures.
First up is a picture of Josh & Maggie daughter that I really liked. She’s an amazingly chilled out baby and so taking pictures of her was pretty easy. She has some amazingly blue eyes and I wanted to really bring them out in a picture. I normally hate these types of ‘de-saturated except for one color’ type photos but her eyes…well…they are really really blue and I think it works:

We also got to stop by the basilica in Philly and I was able to take some time to make a panoramic HDR. I’ve been chasing this picture for a while but hadn’t gotten it really right. I would either take too many pictures and it would be unworkable or it wouldn’t stitch or something else. I’m really happy with this one though.

The thing I’ve done least is take pictures of people. I was able to get two pretty good pictures. The first is of Jennifer and it’s obviously a composite of three pictures. I couldn’t decide if it was going to be cool or cheesy, but I went with it anyway and I’m actually rather pleased.

The last and certainly my favorite shot of the weekend is of Sylvia. I went all paparazzi style photography to catch her leaving her wedding. Thankfully my DSLR has a fast shutter speed because this is one of those classic pictures that just kind of happens if you leave your finger on the shutter. The bubbles are real and not shopped in.

So there you go. A blog update.
